Personal data processing standards for the Service, including cross-border transfers

1. Purpose and Scope

This Policy describes how Planetfru (the "Company") processes personal data when providing the Vokie mobile apps, website, and related APIs (collectively, the "Service"), including the categories of data, purposes of use, retention and deletion, user rights, cross-border processing, security safeguards, and notice procedures.

2. Data We Collect

  • Required identifiers: Email address (for account creation, verification, and notices)
  • Usage data generated in the Service:
    • Learning data (progress, correct/incorrect answers, scores, study time, vocabulary lists and favorites, user settings)
    • Translation data (input sentences and examples, translation results, edits and feedback)
    • Device and log data (app/OS version, device model, access date/time and country, IP address, cookies and advertising identifiers, push tokens, diagnostic and crash logs)
  • Billing information (for paid use): Store receipt identifiers, subscription status and period (payment method details are processed and stored by the Store)
  • Sensitive data: The Company does not collect legally defined sensitive categories of personal data.

3. How We Use Personal Data

  1. Account management and customer support
  2. Provision and operation of the Service
  3. Personalized learning (difficulty adjustment and optimized recommendations)
  4. Analytics, statistics, and quality improvement
  5. Security and prevention of fraud or abuse
  6. Compliance with laws and handling of disputes
  7. Sending marketing communications (subject to separate consent and opt-out options)

4. Retention and Deletion

  • Principle: Personal data is destroyed without undue delay once the processing purpose has been fulfilled.
  • When a member deletes their account: Unless a statutory retention obligation applies, all personal data and learning/translation materials are deleted. Backups and logs are irreversibly wiped within up to thirty (30) days.

5. Third-Party Sharing and Outsourcing

The Company does not sell or lease personal data to third parties without consent or another legal basis. To operate the Service, the Company may use specialized processors for infrastructure (IaaS), messaging (email and push), logging and performance monitoring, and data analytics, while disclosing the purpose, data items, retention period, and safeguards and exercising appropriate supervision.

6. Cross-Border Processing

Because the Company uses global cloud infrastructure such as Amazon Web Services, personal data may be processed or stored outside the member's country of residence.

7. Cookies, SDKs, and Similar Technologies

The Service may use cookies, SDKs, and advertising identifiers for convenience, security, and analytics purposes.

8. Your Rights and How to Exercise Them

Members may request access, correction, deletion, suspension of processing, or withdrawal of consent.

  • Response time: Requests are handled within the timeframe required by applicable law.
  • Processing opt-out of marketing: Requests take effect immediately in principle, but email updates may require up to ten (10) business days and push notifications up to twenty-four (24) hours.

9. Protection of Minors

Where required by applicable law, the Company verifies and records the consent of legal guardians.

10. Security Measures

The Company implements reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including least-privilege access control, encryption of data in transit, access monitoring, log review, vulnerability assessment, and backup and recovery procedures.

12. Notice and Revision

When this Policy changes, the Company announces the update at least seven (7) days prior to enforcement, or thirty (30) days in advance if the change may disadvantage users. Where processing purposes or scope change substantially or new processing requires consent, the Company seeks explicit renewed consent.
